TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions apply to sports camps and trials organised by World Wide Scholarships duly registered in South Africa under the laws of South Africa as NFL Africa PTY LTD. An athlete’s participation in World Wide Scholarships camps and trials incorporates these terms and conditions and by making a booking or purchasing a ticket with us, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. In these terms and conditions: “we” or “us” or “our” WWS” refers to World Wide Scholarships, “you” or “your” means the relevant Participant(s) named on the registration form or where any Participant is under the age of 18, then that Participant’s parent or guardian who submits our registration form “Player” means the person(s) named on the relevant registration form taking part in the relevant camp and where that person is under 18 includes where applicable his or her parents or guardians.
Read these terms and conditions carefully. Use of this website (the “site”) and/or any world wide scholarships (“wws”) service shall mean that you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions including WWS’s privacy policy. WWS’s privacy policy describes our practices concerning data that you provide or that we may collect about you through the services. If you do not agree to be bound by all of the terms, do not use this website and do not utilize the services offered by WWS.
The materials in this site are provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind either express or implied to the fullest extent permissible pursuant to applicable law, WWS disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. WWS does not warrant or represent that the information is accurate or reliable or that the site will be free of errors or viruses.
Under no circumstances, including but not limited to negligence, will WWS be liable for special or consequential damages that result from the use or inability to use the materials in this site. In no event shall WWS, liability to a user for any loss, damage or claim exceed the amount paid by the user for accessing this site.
1. SUBJECT MATTER
WWS conducts sports camp in association with international partners of WWS, registration of the selected program, the provision of an invitation letter from the camp or trial for visa processing (if required), consulting support for the participant during their stay in the camp, and provide additional services at the request of the customer.
2. OBLIGATION OF PARTIES
WWS undertakes to explain the general provisions of the camp to Player. The player agrees to follow these general provisions. Furthermore, the player is solely responsible for any violation to the general provisions contained herein.
2.1 Player agrees to transfer to the WWS the following documents:
- One registration form, duly completed and submitted by the player and his/her guardian, for each participant and parental permission to participate in the camp or trials.
- Valid passport or identity documentation where required
- A copy of the first page of the participant’s passport where required (for international players).
- A duly signed indemnity and player liability release form
APPLICATION FORM FOR PARTICIPANTS
Each Participant or their relevant parent or guardian may be required to fill in a form for entry onto the camp or trials. Where any Participant is under the age of 18 at the time of completion of the form and will not be accompanied by a parent or guardian, then a parent or guardian will be required to countersign and confirm that we may act in loco parentis whilst the relevant participant is at the camp or trials. We reserve the right to cancel any Participant’s place on or require a participant to leave the camp or trials, even if the camp or trials has already commenced, and without compensation or repayment of any sums paid should any information on the application form be incorrect.
3. COST AND PAYMENT
Upon confirmation of booking and receiving the amount via invoice or email for the camp or trials, the Player shall pay the total amount for the selected camp or trials, on/or before the registration deadline.
3.1 When you make a booking, we will provisionally reserve a place or places on the relevant camp on the basis of these terms and conditions. Your booking will be taken as confirmed in respect of all Participants named by you on the registration form only at the time of full payment and when we have received a duly completed registration form. Prior to full payment we may send you an acknowledgement of receipt of the deposit and registration form. Any such acknowledgement simply indicates that we are dealing with the booking and is not a confirmation of it.
3.2 Please check the Confirmation email or invoice, with all other documents we send you as soon as you receive them. Contact us immediately if any information which appears on such documentation appears to be incorrect or incomplete, as it may not be possible to make changes later. We regret we cannot accept any responsibility if we are not notified of any inaccuracies in any document within ten days of our sending it out. Whilst we will do our best to rectify any inaccuracies notified outside these time limits, you will be responsible for any costs and expenses involved in doing so except where we made the mistake and there is good reason why you did not contact us within the above time limits.
3.3 Payment of deposits and final payments are to be made by transferring funds to the WWS account, online payment gateway or mobile payment methods at the exchange rate on the date of invoice. WWS also accepts payment by most major credit cards.
Please note: the amount due does not include travel expenses, visa support or accommodation. The Player is responsible for booking and paying for all flights and a visa for each participant (if applicable).
4. SELECTED PLAYER OPPORTUNITIES AFTER CAMP OR TRIALS
Each player will be notified of which opportunities they are selected for no later than 14 working days after the camp or trials end date. WWS is not responsible for a delay in communication should the delay be due to incorrect information provided on the registration form or telephone numbers being changed, unreachable or email address being changed or unreachable.

Sports Scholarship Offer
Selection by WWS Scout is not selection by an institution. Institutions will have their selection criteria of which each student must qualify in talent and academics. Scholarships are not full funding in most cases and can range from 1% to 100% .WWS hold the discretion on which player is given a discounted service linking rate. Our service linking rates range from R15,000 to R30 000. Players selected by WWS will be marketed to the immediate database of opportunities. Should the Institutions not be interested in the student the student will be liable to pay for additional administration services.
Other costs to the students responsabily include but are not limited to the following:

Professional International Academy or Club Trials

Once a player has been selected for professional academy or club trials, they will need to cover the cost of all their travel expenses through the WWS preferred travel agents. Some of our camps or trials offer a no pay to play award to the best player or “man/woman of the match” for each sport held at the camp or trials. This player will be notified and have their information displayed on our social media pages. Players who are selected will receive one week of training with a professional coach in Europe or the USA as well as one day of trialing to showcase their skills in front of professional teams and academy scouts. Players who are selected for professional academies will need to cover their training and living expenses while training abroad.

International and local developmental coaching clinics, academies, camps and tours

Players who are selected for international or local developmental coaching clinics, academies, camps and tours will need to cover the cost of all their travel expenses through the WWS preferred travel agents. Players who are selected will receive one week to two weeks of training, depending on the type of package selected by the player, with a professional coach in Europe or the USA Should a player attend monthly academy training they will need to cover their monthly training fee’s and costs.
5. LIMITATION OF OUR LIABILITIES TO YOU
5.1 WWS will not be liable where any failure in the performance of the camp or trials is due to: 1) you or a relevant Participant; or 2) a third party unconnected with the provision of the camp arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or 3) unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall.
5.2 Our liability will also be limited in accordance with any relevant international convention in relation to the provision of travel or accommodation services which are incorporated into and form part of your contract with us and we are to be regarded as having all the benefit of any limitation of compensation contained in such conventions.
5.3 Unless otherwise expressly indicated by us in writing, activities, excursions or other tours that you or individual Participants may choose to book or pay for whilst on the camp or trials and which are not included in the price of the camp, are not part of the arrangements provided by us. For any activity, excursion or other tour that you or individual Participants may book, the contract will be with the operator of the activity, excursion or tour and not with us. We are not responsible for the provision of the activity, excursion or tour or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the operator even if a member of our staff accompanies or takes part in the activity, excursion or tour.
6. SPECIAL REQUESTS
If you or a Participant has a special request, we will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee it except as set out below. We promise to comply with any special request which we have specifically agreed to and confirmed in writing. General confirmation that a special request has been noted or passed on to the supplier or the inclusion of a special request on your Confirmation Invoice or on the acknowledgement of your registration or any other documentation is not confirmation that the request will be met. Unless and until specifically confirmed in writing all special requests are subject to availability. If any additional cost is applicable, it will either be invoiced to you prior to departure or should be paid for locally.
7. DOCUMENTATION
You are responsible for ensuring your information provided on the registration form satisfies all passport, visa, travel insurance and health certificate requirements and we accept no responsibility for any refusal of travel or entry into any destination or for any liabilities, losses, delays or expenses incurred through any irregularity in such documentation. If you have any queries with regard to documentation and insurance requirements you must raise them with us well in advance of the camp or trials commencing. Any information provided by us with regard to travel documentation is given in good faith but without responsibility on our part.
8. PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND EQUIPMENT
Players will be responsible for their personal effects at all times through the camp, WWS will bear no responsibility whatsoever for any loss and/or damage to any personal effects.
Any damage to WWS equipment through negligence and/or recklessness will be borne fully by the player and will need to be duly compensated for after WWS provides a receipt or invoice of the equipment provided by our supplier/s.
9. WWS CAMP OR TRIALS ANTI – DOPING POLICY
No athlete, coach or official involved with sport at WWS Academy shall engage in a doping practice.
The term “Doping Practice” can be defined as:
(a) The taking of substances or use of methods identified on the IOC List of Doping Classes and Methods; or (b) Refusal to provide a sample for testing when requested by WADA or any other agency recognized by the national governing body of sports ;or
(c) Aiding, abetting, counselling, procuring or being knowingly involved in an activity referred to in (a) or (b) above.
10. ATHLETES WITH A DISSABILITY (AWD)
WWS is aware of and recognises the special needs of players with disabilities who must follow a medical regimen, which in some cases includes the use of substances listed by the IOC. Players agree to submit to WWS at the time of registration any medical information that needs to be noted such as medications that are needed during the duration of the camp or trials and all such medications need to be supplied by the player or family of the player to a senior representative or to the player should they be legally allowed to administer medications.
11. PHYSICAL CONTACT MISCONDUCT
Any physical misconduct conducted by a player during the WWS Camp or Trials will result in immediate disqualification of participation without compensation of fee’s for the player.
11.1 No Individual Shall: At any time strike, shove, threaten to strike, or lay a hand upon an official, player or spectator.
11.2 No Individual Shall: Use unnecessarily rough tactics during the course of a game, competition or practice.
11.3 Assault charges may be filed for the above examples of misconduct and potential expulsion from the WWS Academy.
12. VERBAL OR VISUAL MISCONDUCT
Any verbal or visual misconduct conducted by a player during the WWS Camp or Trials will result in immediate disqualification of participation without compensation of fee’s for the player.
12. 1 No Individual Shall: Engage in an abusive, verbal attack upon any official or individual on or off the practice / contest area.
12.2 No Individual shall: Use trash talk; profane; obscene; or vulgar language, under any circumstances, on or off the practice / contest area.
12.3 No Individual Shall: Engage in an objectionable demonstration of dissent or unsportsmanlike conduct such as throwing equipment or any other forceful action.
12.4 No Individual Shall: Except the coach/manager, contend the decisions of an official during competition or practice.
13. GENERAL MISCONDUCT
Any misconduct conducted by a player during the WWS Camp or Trials may result in immediate disqualification of participation without compensation of fee’s for the player.

No Individual Shall: Refuse to abide by a WWS Coaches instruction or decision.

No Individual Shall: Appear under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

No Individual Shall: Consume alcoholic beverages while participating in a game or in the contest or practice area.

No Individual Shall: Be seen involved in any disorderly physical activity with the opposite sex.
14. CANCELLATION/FORCE MAJEURE POLICY AND REFUND POLICY
The WWS Camp or Trials shall not be liable or responsible for failure, cancellation, suspension, postponement, delay, or shortening in services resulting from a Force Majeure Event, inclusive of causes beyond it’s reasonable control, including, but not limited to: acts of God; field closures; equipment failure; war; terrorism; riot; acts of civil or military authorities; epidemics; floods; fires; unusual severe weather conditions (including excessive rain and lightning); accidents; or other contingencies the non-occurrence of which was a basic assumption on which the registration was made.
In the event that the WWS Camp or Trials cancels an event due to a Force Majeure event, WWS will offer a 100% full CREDIT, (less a 10% processing fee) which will be good for any WWS Camp or Trials event for 12 months from the date of cancellation.
15. HEALTH PRECAUTIONS AND SAFETY
We will provide general advice to you and Participants as to what health precautions are usually required for your destination or activity. It is your responsibility to verify such advice with appropriately qualified medical personnel and to ensure that all such advice is communicated to Participants. Any health information provided by us is provided in good faith but will only be a general overview of any health hazards and requirements for the camp. In the circumstances any such advice given by us should not be regarded as a substitute for specific and detailed medical advice either for you or in respect of individual Participants who should raise any particular concerns with their own doctor. Our camps and trials involve strenuous activity and it is your responsibility to ensure that each Participant has the necessary level of fitness and health to complete the camp or trials. Each Participant will be required to sign the indemnity and release form, details and full particulars must be given of any previous or existing conditions that may affect a Participant’s ability to take part in the camp, trials or relevant activities. Participants will be required to authorise disclosure by us of any such conditions to any medical personnel that we may use in connection with the camp or trials. We reserve the right at any time to require individual Participants to produce medical evidence of that Participant’s ability to take part in the camp or a particular activity. We reserve the right to cancel any Participant’s place on or require a Participant to leave the camp or trials, even if the camp or trials has already commenced, and without repayment of any sums paid or other compensation, should any information provided to us in respect of that Participant’s medical history or condition be incorrect. Whilst at the camp or trials, all Participants are required to adhere at all times to the advice and instructions given by our staff or those retained by us to supply any services or activities which form part of the camp or trials. If a Participant falls ill or suffers an injury or in our opinion is not able to continue with the camp or trials, we reserve the right, following consultation with the relevant parent or guardian, to require such Participant to either leave the camp entirely or for a period or to not take part in a particular activity on the camp or trials. In such circumstances the relevant parent or guardian or other responsible adult will be required by us to accompany the relevant Participant at all times, even if the Participant has to return home. If we have to accompany the relevant Participant in such circumstances we reserve the right to charge for such additional service.
16. COVID – 19 PROTOCOLS
16.1 As part of safety procedures for the covid - 19 protocols players will not be allowed to linger on the fields when they are not playing and parents or family members will not be allowed to spectate at an event with more than 30 players participating. A social distancing drop off point will be in place at the beginning and end of each camp to ensure our athletes are following the international and local covid - 19 protocols.
16.2 Covid - 19 testing - International athletes will need to produce their covid - 19 PCR test results that they used to enter the country with on arrival. All athletes will need to have temperature checks done and fill out screening questionnaires on arrival. Some of our events held in red zones with high density of covid - 19 may need to do rapid tests on arrival or present their PCR test done 48 hours prior to the event.
16.3 Our camps and trials will have a limited number of athlete's allowed at an event depending on the area space of each event.
16.4 Athlete's showing symptems of covid - 19 will be quarenteend in safety areas and not be allowed to further participate in the camp or trials. Parents will be requested to collect the athlete in a timely manner.
16.5 Assisting in curbing the spread of COVID - 19, there will be no overnight camps until further notice to ensure that athletes are kept safe during the camp. All athletes returning to camp on a daily basis will need to follow our standard COVID - 19 protocols. WWS partners with travel agents to assist our distance athletes with arranging accomodation and travel logistics. Please visit our international attendee or travel agent page for their details.
16.6 When not training or playing, campers will be required to be spaced out with a 1.6 metre gap between themselves. Players are required to adhere to social distancing at all times.
17. JURISDICTION/GOVERNING LAW
Any dispute, claim or other matter of any description (and whether involving personal injury or not) will be settled through negotiation and/or arbitration and the governing will be the law of the Republic of South Africa.
